Troy ready for national attack

South African national under-13 Rotax Mini Max karting champion is all set for the first round of the opening round of the 2020 national championships following a dominant weekend at iDube’s second round KZN Max series on Sunday. The 'Maritzburg lightie was in dominant form as he stormed to a triple under-15 Junior Max win and then went on to back that up with an under-13 Micro Max triple too.

“We had a brilliant weekend at iDube and I’d say we are ready for the national here at the end of the month,” Troy admitted. “We had a triple win in Junior Max, where I am starting to really get to grips with the bigger, heavier and more powerful kart in preparation for the nationals. “I have already raced against all our main rivals from the Cape and in Jozi too, some of them have a few years experience so it’s not going to be easy but we are racing at home for the first race, so let’s see how that goes!

"I also had a good run in Mini Max — I’m a bit heavy for that class now — basically I am growing out of it and that class is super competitive, so it was good to win there again, but now it’s time to focus on the national at the end of the month and I am really looking forward to that — bring it on!"
