The top four Volkswagen Rookie Cup drivers head to Killarney’s penultimate round National Extreme Festival separated by just 21 points with a maximum 48 points still available over those final four races. The four of them, Sebastian Dias, Luke Hill, Sebastian Venkov and Jack Moore have also each won races over the past six, making it closer than ever as they head to the Cape.

“It’s closer than ever as the Volkswagen Rookie Cup heads to Killarney for the penultimate round,” Volkswagen Head of Motorsport Mike Rowe explains. “The top four Sebastian Dias, Luke Hill, Sebastian Venkov and Jack Moore have all won in the past four races and there’s just 21 points between them with 48 points still on the table. Don’t forget Keyaan Dwomoh, Max Corbett, and Anwil April ready to play interference and we’re in for another great weekend.”

Sebastian Dias was in commanding form as he took two of the three wins at the previous round to bounce into the Rookie Cup championship lead in his PMD Transport Polo Vivo GT last time out. Which is why winner of the first three races on the trot and Rookie Cup sophomore Luke Hill will be out to make amends in his Versaflex version. 

But never rule Sebastian Venkov who played himself into title contention with a double win in his 23 Degrees Vivo or Puma Fleet Dynamics lad Jack Moore, who also won last time out, from this equation. And then there are rookies,  Adhive racer Keyaan Dwomoh and Century Racing lad Max Corbett and Anwil April all chasing maiden victories and in so doing, ready to play ultimate interference.

Applications for the 2027 Volkswagen Rookie Cup are now also open. “We would like to invite top karters and other young motor sportsmen and women who will be fifteen years or older next year, to contact us now with a view to the new season,” Mike Rowe concludes. “There are few better ways to prepare a youngster for his or her future race career than the Volkswagen Rookie Cup, so we look forward to their applications!”
