Northern Regions Round a Vereeniging this Saturday

Rotax Max Gauteng Regional Karting action returns to the Vereeniging Kart track for the first time in a while Saturday 14 May, where local racers will be looking to set the pecking order following the recent National opener at Killarney in the Cape.

Premier division DD2 is difficult to predict, but Smith brothers, Jamie and Brandon are likely the men to beat, with Wayland Wyman and gearbox class rookie Kian Grottis, Nicolas Spanoyannis and Niko Zafiris, as well as Hamza Jassat, Divan Braak among those out to prove a point. National Masters winner Eugene Brittz takes on Nic Verheul, Tinahe Ncube, Carlo Gil and Bjorn Roos and it's Frikkie Cornelius versus Philippe Chapat and Derrick Joseph in the Vets.

Karabo Malemela, Moosa Kajee, Ethan Bostander, Daniel Kruger, Kian Spies and Olerato Sekudu are the quick Gauteng karters in open age group Senior Max. KC Ensor-Smith will want to repeat his National success locally in high school Junior Max. Nicolas Vostanis, Jayden Goosen, Erich Heystek and Wian Boshoff are among those out to beat him.

In primary school action, expect Caleb Odendaal to tussle with Amani Kinyua, Spice Mailula, Georgia Lenaerts, Aadam Kajee and Kegan Martin in under-13 Mini Max. Taylin Patel will have Emma Dowling, Rafael Da Silva, Matthew Shuttleworth, Santiago Frade and Logan Billau to deal with in under-11 Micro Max. And national winner Noah Cronje will take on Brodi Dowling, Diego Antunes, Ronaldo Koen, Bophelo Molatlhegi and Jenson Dias in the baby Bambinos.

Find the Kart Track behind the Vereeniging Showgrounds, just off the R28 interchange on the R59 freeway.
