Visser back on top at Benoni Rotax Nationals
Charl Michael Visser continued his dominant start to his Rotax DD2 gearbox class karting career with a second overall National win on the trot at the weekend’s second round at the Formula K raceway in Benoni.
“All the hard work we have put in to be competitive from the get-go in the direct drive gearbox Rotax DD2 karting class is paying off,” Charl Michael admits. “We started the season with a winning weekend Killarney last time out, which had a few people whispering about my home track advantage back there. So it really was a lot of fun to go up to Benoni and win there too!
“We have now dialled my Toyota GR Academy KR Kart properly in and I am feeling so comfortable on it, no matter what the track. Formula K is always tricky because it’s so technical and we were expecting big competition there, but we still won two of the three heats to take the day and consolidate my Rotax DD2 championship advantage.
So huge thanks to Leeroy, Kyle, and Tubby, to the Gazoo Racing South Africa and KR Kart teams and of course to my wingman and engineer Zefrey Africa. And of course, my mum, my dad and brother Kyle for all the support.”
Multiple National Rotax karting champion, Charl Michael Visser is also a former National Polo Cup champion. Charl Michael also holds both the overall Kyalami and Zwartkops circuit lap records via his endurance racing campaign.
