Youth no issue for tiny Moerat

NOTE - the 4 March Vereeniging Northern Regions Karting races have been postponed until further notice

South African kid karting sensation Mohammed Moerat heads to Vereeniging this weekend for the second round of the Northern Regions Micro Max karting championship with a spring in his step and keen to continue on the winning streak that’s characterised his season so far.

“We are ahead in the championship and I want to keep it that way,” the 7-year old reigning Gauteng Cadet karting champion explained. “We had a good run last time out, so I have to do the same again, but this time I’d like to win all three races, not just two — even if that means beating some pretty tough rivals.

Despite Moerat being the youngest — and probably the smallest driver in the class, he remains ultra competitive. “I’m loving driving the bigger kart - we still have to learn some tricks, but we are getting there!”
