Vermont Sales and several of its leading tool brands have teamed up with Rubio Monocoat on the Heritage Build-Off Auction. A celebration of craftsmanship, creativity, and community, the Rubio Monocoat Heritage Build-off brings together thirteen talented makers, with each challenged to create an original interior furniture piece that showcases their skill and vision, as much as it contributes to charity. 

The thirteen expert makers include Abrie von Weilligh, Brandon Scheepers, Bruce Wacher and Francois Smith: Gino Fernandez, Greg Pretorius, and Greg Stock. Krijnauw Joubert, Ndandu Khavhadi and Njabulo Shabangu. And Suzi McAfee, Taryn-Lee Cockcroft, and Warren Turnbull.

Now completed, each piece is being auctioned off, with all proceeds going to the Tears Foundation. Tears is dedicated to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse across South Africa. The Heritage Build-Off online auction now offers design enthusiasts, collectors and supporters, the opportunity to contribute to an important cause in order to own a one-of-a-kind furniture creation. 

Supported by Vermont brands, Tork Craft tools, woodworking experts Festool, Kreg and Pro-Tech, and Pont Jorgensen clamps, each auction piece is finished using Rubio’s new Oil Plus 2C colours to highlight the natural beauty of the wood. This event is however more about making a difference than just unique furniture.
