Charl Michael Visser scores seventh karting title at Zwartkops

Cape Town driver Charl Michael Visser scored his eighth South African National Championship when he won the Senior Max title at the Rotax Max national Karting Finals at Zwartkops in Pretoria on Saturday. His 2025 title is Charl Michael’s seventh national championship karting success over and above his 2023 SA Polo Cup main circuit title.

“We knew what we had to do and kept our eyes on the big picture on Saturday,” Charl Michael explains. “Still, I won a heat to come home a close second for the day and clinch the 2025 South African Rotax Senior Max title. This is my seventh National karting title and my eight in all considering my 2023 Polo Cup championship on the main circuit. It’s something I am truly proud of.

“It’s taken a huge effort over the years and this is something I could never have achieved myself. So huge thanks to my dad and mom and my brother Kyle for all the support. Thanks also to my main men, Andre Bigshow and my mechanic Zefry, for all the hard work over all the years, to Scotty of Sodi for a great kart and to Ed and the Rotax team for yet another fair and super competitive championship.

“This title also opens the door to another Rotax Max Grand Finals in Bahrain in December, where I plan to use all my ‘Olympics of Karting’ experience to do my country proud. Thanks once again to all of those who made this happen!”
