Stermin closes on Senior title
Dino Stermin tightened his grip on the Western Cape Senior Max karting championship with a strong second in a hard fought penultimate Killarney karting round on Saturday.
“I had to beat my main championship rival Delano Fowler, so I spent the day concentrating on that,” Dino explained. “Still we had a brilliant three racing - Delano, Umpie Swart and me fought harder than I can remember in a long time - we all led at one point or another - positions changed throughout all three races and in the I won once and Umpie twice, so he won the day and I was second from Delano.
“The championship is mine to lose now - we have worked hard all year and it’s now down to the last three races to bring it home. “Still, I can’t ignore Delano — he’s a hard rival and I think we will race just as hard next time, even if it’s the championship decider - I can’t wait!”
The Cape Kart Finals happen on 29 October.
