Mogotsi, Loosemore & Bertholdt ready for Zwartkops
Volkswagen Motorsport returns to Zwartkops Raceway, the scene of Jonathan Mogotsi wrapping up his maiden SATC SupaCup championship last time he visited the circuit. This time it’s however a matter of arresting his principal rival’s charge and making up ground at the Pretoria racetrack. Teammate Jason Loosemore will be relying on his experience at the home of Volkswagen Driving to make another decent step forward, while Volkswagen Motorsport Rookie driver Judd Bertholdt is out to take a step up to the top of the Astron Energy Polo Cup podium following his maiden visit to it last time.
“Jonathan Mogotsi is fully committed to making up a little lost ground at Zwartkops this weekend,“ Volkswagen Head of Motorsport Mike Rowe points out. “He has a really tough competitor to contend with this season, but we fully intend to make it happen. Jason Loosemore made a good step in the right direction last time, so we’re need to keep that momentum moving too, while our Astron Energy Polo Cup rookie Judd Bertholdt scored a maiden podium last race He’s now fully focussed on that top step!”
2024 SATC SupaCup champion Jonathan Mogotsi is hoping to continue his peerless performance at high altitude in 2025. “Of the three meetings so far this season, we struggled a little at the two coastal rounds, but it was almost a perfect weekend up at Kyalami,” Mogotsi pondered. “So let’s hope that the pendulum swings back again at Zwartkops, and we can keep my Volkswagen Genuine Parts SupaPolo out front. Tate Bishop has been super quick so far this season, so well done. But I’m coming for him… See you at Zwartkops!”
SupaCup rookie and Astron Energy Polo Cup champion Jason Loosemore enjoyed a positive outing at Also Scribante last time, and he plans to keep moving forward at Zwartkops on Saturday. “Zwartkops is essentially my home track on the main circuit, so I intend to put that knowledge to best use on Saturday,” Richards Bay oval track exponent Jason admits. “I’ve worked hard with my brilliant Volkswagen Motorsport team to set my Astron Energy Volkswagen Motorsport SupaCup up perfectly for Zwartkops, so now it’s up to me to deliver.”
Rookie Cup champion and Volkswagen Motorsport driver Judd Bertholdt scored another pole position en route to his maiden Astron Energy Polo Cup podium at Aldo Scribante and now the team young gun is interested in only one thing: “We achieved two major milestones at the previous race with a great qualifying in the Rookie Cup Polo, which set me up for my first podium finish in Astron Energy Polo Cup” Bertholdt pointed out. “The next step is up to the top of that podium. Bring it on!”
“The lads are ready for our first visit to Zwartkops this season,” Mike Rowe concludes. “We’re also racing at the home of our Driving Centre, so there’s much honour to uphold, especially considering we took the SupaCup title with Jonathan last time we raced there. See you in Pretoria!”
