Lindenberg Racing’s epic European tour
South Africa’s international historic racing father and daughter duo, Peter and Paige Lindenberg closed off their International Historics Challenge tour with mixed results in the Bernie’s V8 races at the Brands Hatch American Speed Festival weekend in the south of England over the weekend.
The weekend started well for Peter as he qualified his Legends of the 9 Hour 15th overall and second among the Challenge contingent behind Jono du Toit’s Chevy Nova, before racing home 14th overall and second of the Challenge entries. The Mustang however developed technical issues toward the end of the race and Pete decided to park the car. “That's racing,” Peter shrugged. “At least I had a good run in the opening race, but this has been an incredible adventure — thanks to everyone who made it happen!”
Paige enjoyed a great weekend, struggling initially to acclimatise to the undulating nature and bottoming dips of the Brands Hatch Club Circuit in the monster Legends of the 9 Hour Fairlane, before settling down to deliver improving results throughout the meeting. "These beasts are a little low for the insane dips at this place, but I got into it after a while and enjoyed an incredible weekend — we started 28th, moved up to 25th, 23rd and then 21st — I also finished all six races of our European leg, so I’m very happy.
“The entire Lindenberg Racing team enjoyed an incredible International Historic Challenge, starting with two great rounds back home before a dreamy few weeks in Europe. “We still have to work out the final International Historic Challenge results, but we have enjoyed a brilliant adventure, made so many friends and will take away wonderful memories of a brilliant tour. “Well done to the entire team and special thanks to everyone who helped make this happen!"
