Charity, fun and action all part of the deal

Lindenberg Racing enjoyed another great week in Knysna around the local Motor Show and Jaguar Simola Hill Climb, where Peter and Paige Lindenberg were joined by Shelby customer Charles Needham in action over the weekend. Peter enjoyed a mega bakkie tussle in the monster Savage Ranger 660, while Needham and Paige raced a pair of Shelby Super Snake Mustangs to great effect, but the Speed Festival week is about far more than just racing for the team.

“The Knysna week is an important one for us and it’s much more than just racing and fun,” Paige explained. “Of course the hill climb is important and the motor show is a great marketing tool for our products, but we also spent a heart warming day spoiling some of the special patients and kids of Hospice in Knysna.

"As much as seeing them suffer breaks my heart into a million pieces, making a difference in their day puts it back together again, so well done to the 2019 Hillclimb Ladies team for all your love, support and effort - such an honour to work with you all. “Of course the racing was great and I really loved pedalling my supercharged V8 Shelby Mustang Super Snake up the hill — it was tricky in the damp this year, but so much fun — and well done to our Shelby customer Charles Needham too.”

Peter Lindenberg also had something to think about up the hill. “Over the past two years, I have had it all my own way as far as bakkies go up the Simola Hill Climb, but this year I had my hands full!” Peter admitted. “Terence Marsh entered his cross country racing Dakar Navara and they clearly spent a bit of time tweaking it for the hill, but we gave it our best and had a hell of a lot of fun too.

“That racing bakkie beat us in the end and well done to Terence, but we are still pretty chuffed with how well our Savage Ranger ran —  this is one hell of an impressive bakkie!”

The Lindenbergs now focus on the third and fourth rounds of the International Historic Series Peter leads in to Zandvoort Holland and then at Brands Hatch in England following a successful start at the SA leg at Zwartkops and Killarney in February. “Pete's Shelby Mustang and my Fairlaine were shipped and have docked already on the other side and we head off to Europe soon to race,” Paige confirmed. “We really cannot wait for that!"

Lindenberg Racing is backed by Sabat Batteries, Road to Race and Shelby SA; GES, aQuellé water, Metabo cordless power tools, The Solutions Team branding, Adendorff Machinery Mart and Hard Rock Cafe, as well as Llumar and Motul lubricants.
