South Africa’s Dakar 2018 rookie winner Hennie de Klerk will return to take on Dakar 2024 and the Saudi Arabian Desert aboard his new TreasuryONE Hilux. But before de Klerk and his team return to the toughest race in the world, they will work flat out to be better prepared than ever through a local TIORC campaign in the Hilux.
De Klerk was best rookie in Dakar 2018 with Gerhard Schutte navigating his old faithful Amarok in South America. In 2020 Hennie and Johann Smalberger delivered a formidable performance in a TreasuryOne Red-Lined Nissan Navara, only to be robbed of a fine top-20 finish after a final day failure. Still, they maintained Hennie's 100% Dakar finishing record.
