South African Motocross legend Ryan Hunt is back in England to compete in this weekend’s VMXdN Veteran Motocross des Nations. Hunt will race alongside Americans Keith Johnson and Ronnie Mac in the international Team 69 in his eighth VMXdN outing at the Hawkstone Park Circuit in Shropshire aboard a 2001 Tork Craft Yamaha YZ 250 two-stroke.

“I’m honoured to race alongside Keith and Ronnie in the 2026 Veteran Motocross des Nations”, Ryan explains. “This is one race I always do my best to return to; it has an amazing atmosphere and is brilliantly supported by spectators and fans alike. Best of all, two-strokes rule this weekend and there are only classes for older bikes on the program, so it’s always a cracker.”

Multiple former South African Champion Ryan rides in the over-50 category of the VMXdN. He already travelled to the UK for the 2026 World Vets where he ended fourth overall riding a contemporary machine last month. 

Far more than just a rider, Hunt is a patron to present day South African motocross and cross country racing. His Tork Craft brand sponsors the Yamaha team; supports fellow SA MX legend Tony Riddell’s Ride Train Race academy and is also proud sponsor to the SA National Cross Country Championship amongst other racing endeavours.

Saturday’s Hawkstone Veteran Motocross des Nations sees twelve teams from around the world represented by international motocross legends of the 1990s and 2000s, riding period machinery on a tough and demanding  track. Just as it was when they raced in the Motorcross des Nations back in the day.
