Team Tork Craft travelled to Gqeberha to close off a busy few weeks of international, national, and regional motorcycle racing across the country with another strong showing at the fifth round South African National Motocross Championship at the sand pit of the Rover raceway over the weekend. That concluded outings in everything from regional cross country to the World Motocross Championship over three short weeks.

Mackenzie Bam made it six Motocross Ladies wins on the trot for Tork Craft Junior Team Husqvarna with two more splendid moto victories in the sand as he extended her iron grip on the class. Caitlin Parkes also impressed with an excellent ride to fourth for the day on her RTR Tork Craft KTM. 

Fresh off South African Motocross Grand Prix duty two weeks prior, Sigmafix Tork Craft Yamaha rider Slade Smith rode to a double podium, where he continues to fight for the 450cc open class MX1 title. Smith was also second in 250cc MX2, where Luke Grundy carried an injury to fifth on his Tork Craft Husqvarna.

In junior motocross, Rayden Woolls overcame two big crashes to ride his Tork Craft Junior Husqvarna home third in 85cc. RTR Tork Craft KTM lads, Hanru du Plessis and Lourens Erasmus meantime scored their best 85 results yet in seventh and ninth with Adam Meyer 16th. 

It was a tough weekend with several riders being injured over the weekend. Also riding hurt, RTR Tork Craft Yamaha’s Cameron Stuckie was seventh in 125 High School ahead of Maxwell Fourie in eleventh. Deruk van Aswegan was unfortunately sidelined by a Friday injury.

It’s been a busy time for Team Tork Craft. Starting with a golden end June Gauteng GXCC Carousel cross country regional, Rayden Woolls led Lourens Erasmus and Adam Meyer to a team 1-2-3. Sigmafix Tork Craft Yamaha Sterley brothers, Ulrich led Liam to a 65cc 1-3, and OR 3 Pro lad Deruk van Aswegan made it three wins, with Tyron Beverley third.

Also at the Carousel, Sigmafix Tork Craft Yamaha men Marco Cocci and Gerhard Snyman took the Seniors 1-2. Sharisma Kriel not only ended second in the ladies, but also fifth in OR 3 Pro Am, where Ulrich van Aswegan came home seventh and Branden van Wyk ninth.

A week later, Sigmafix Tork Craft Yamaha riders Slade Smith and Maddy Malan raced the world’s best at the Terra Topia South African Motocross Grand Prix in Gauteng. Slade ended 20th, Maddy 21st. And over the same weekend, Team Tork Craft patron, Ryan Hunt and son Reece were among over 1200 machines to ride the Bergville IMPI Hard Enduro.

Looking ahead, former motocross international Ryan Hunt jets to England to race World Vets aboard a Richard Wood Holeshot Motorhomes Yamaha YZ250 at Farleigh Castle this weekend. “I’m looking forward to racing former British, American and world campions,” Ryan confirms. “Of course I’m taking my Tork Craft Trackbox with to keep everything in perfect running order!”
