Mogotsi wants first Killarney SupaCup win of ‘25

Volkswagen Motorsport is en route  to one of its favourite circuits at the Killarney International Raceway for the penultimate round of the National Extreme Festival Presented by Coca-Cola on Saturday 13 September. Drivers, Jonathan Mogotsi is itching for his first Killarney win of the year, Jason Loosemore wants to repeat the positive performances of both his last outing and his previous visit to the Cape, and Volkswagen Motorsport Rookie Judd Bertholdt intends to continue his upward charge in the Astron Energy Polo Cup.

“We head back to one of our happy hunting grounds for the fifth round National Extreme Festival at Killarney, where the Cape spring awaits this weekend,“ Volkswagen Head of Motorsport Mike Rowe reflected. “We have Jonathan Mogotsi looking for his first win in the Cape this season, Jason Loosemore intent on continuing his great recent progress and our rookie Judd Bertholdt on a charge in the Astron Energy Polo Cup. So we’re looking forward to another special weekend in the Cape.”

“I have regularly won races every season at Killarney and fully intend doing just that again this year, after missing out on a top spot last time we were here,” Jonathan Mogotsi points out. “It’s also good to arrive off a double victory in East London last time out, so hopefully it’s a matter of just keeping that momentum going in my Genuine Parts Volkswagen Motorsport SupaPolo while our whole team enjoys the spoils of a weekend of racing in the glorious Cape. Can’t wait!”

Reigning Astron Energy Polo Cup champion Jason Loosemore is likewise anticipating to a strong outing at Killarney. “My best two rounds so far this season were at the first Killarney round, and then in East London last time out,” Jason admits. “So I’m positive about a strong result back in the Cape this weekend. I have prepared hard and my team has been fettling my Astron Energy Volkswagen Motorsport SupaPolo, so we’re ready. Bring it on!”

Volkswagen Motorsport Rookie Cup champion Judd Bertholdt has thoroughly impressed so far in 2025 at the wheel of his Volkswagen Rookie Cup Polo GTI in the Astron Energy Polo Cup: “I have already met most of my debut season objectives and we arrive at Killarney as the leading rookie and third in the overall title chase,” Judd explains. “Now we just need to win a race and we’ll tick all those boxes!”
