The long-awaited new book, 60 Years of Porsche Racing at Kyalami is printed and ready to ship. Covering the illustrious history of Porsche cars racing at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit from 1961 to the present, 60 Years of Porsche Racing at Kyalami is a high-quality 378-page 280 mm x 240 mm large format book now available in two Standard and Collector’s Editions.

The book details the vast and impressive history of Porsche racing success at Kyalami, stretching back to winning  the circuit-opening 9 Hour race held in 1961. And all the way on to Porsche’s victory on the return of the 9 Hour race in 2019, and the final 9 Hour early in 2023. Every Porsche car, engine and driver who ever raced at Kyalami, from the victorious McLaren TAG-Porsche turbo to the original 718 F1, through the 917s, 908s, 956s and 962s, the many 911s, 944s and many more, are all detailed in the book. 

Published by SA Motorsport Memories, 60 Years of Porsche Racing at Kyalami was compiled by author Denis Klopper and edited by Roger Houghton. The book includes forewords by David Piper, Sarel van der Merwe, Derek Bell and Toby Venter, and personal insights from legendary motoring scribes, Roger McCleery, Stuart Johnston, André de Kock and Hendrik Verwoerd, and Porsche historian Wernher Hartzenberg.

The book contains over 550 special images, most of which have never been published before. Each image  accompanied by a detailed caption in both English and German. Statistics of every race where a Porsche competed, cover the car types, drivers, chassis numbers and of course, the race results. 

Only 500 copies of the Standard Edition signed by the author are available at R2,195.00 including delivery within the Republic of South Africa. 100 numbered Collector’s Edition copies come with a hard cover and dust cover in a protective sleeve. They include a personal message from the author, and are signed by the author, the editor and Porsche and Kyalami CEO Toby Venter at R3,795.00 including courier delivery in South Africa.
