Volkswagen Motorsport is on a roll as it heads home to the Aldo Scribante Racetrack a literal stone’s throw from Volkswagen Plant Kariga and Motorsport on Saturday 10 May. Champion Jonathan Mogotsi arrives home fresh off a dominant SATC SupaCup performance at Kyalami last time out. Teammate Jason Loosemore is counting on a decent step forward, while Volkswagen Motorsport Rookie driver Judd Bertholdt is out to convert his maiden Astron Energy Polo Cup pole position last time out into a podium placing at Scribante.

“Jonathan Mogotsi delivered a spectacular performance at Kyalami last time out, so we’re looking for more of the same at Volkswagen Motorsport’s home Eastern Cape Extreme Festival round this weekend,“ Volkswagen Head of Motorsport Mike Rowe points out. “We are also confident that Jason Loosemore will bounce back after a tough weekend at Kyalami, while our Astron Energy Polo Cup rookie Judd Bertholdt fully intends adding a maiden podium to his first pole position last time out.”

SATC SupaCup champion Jonathan Mogotsi was peerless at Kyalami. “It was almost a perfect weekend, so now we must take that ‘almost’ out of the equation for our faithful home crowd at Aldo Scribante,” Mogotsi promised. “My team is sure to hand me a perfect Volkswagen Genuine Parts SupaPolo, so it’s up to me to deliver the same behind the wheel as we chase down my title deficit. SupaCup rookie and Astron Energy Polo Cup champion Jason Loosemore has put his tough Kyalami outing behind him and he’s ready to deliver at Scribante. “I’m fully focussed on putting a clean weekend together at Aldo Scribante,” Jason admitted. “I owe it to my team who have worked hard to ensure my Astron Energy Volkswagen Motorsport SupaCup is 100% ready. Aldo is the perfect place to deliver.”

Rookie Cup champion and Volkswagen Motorsport driver Judd Bertholdt continued to improve on his second Astron Energy Polo Cup outing at Kyalami. He intends to do even better in Gqeberha. “I’ve done more than enough laps there in the Rookie Cup to know my way around Aldo Scribante,” Bertholdt explained. “We are working hard to improve in Friday qualifying, which is a major challenge in Polo Cup, but my race pace is there, as I proved with my fastest lap last race. Now to put it all together at Aldo. I can’t wait for our home race!”
