Husqvarna’s Oosthuizen eyeing enduro big six

A dominant William Oosthuizen leads Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Racing to Port Elizabeth in search of a perfect sixth win out of six South African National Enduro Championship E1 starts and the 2019 title at the Rover Enduro Saturday 5 October. Teammates Brett Swanepoel and Matthew Green meanwhile look forward to finishing their seasons on a high to make it a season to remember for the team.

“I have had an incredible season so far,” Mossel Bay star William Oosthuizen explained. “We have put everything into it and we've reaped the rewards so far, but it is not over ’til the fat lady sings. “My title rival Lloyd Kirk has been hounding us all season and he will be there right through to the final kilometre, so we cannot afford to drop our game.

“I know Ant will prepare a perfect Pepson Plastics Husqvarna for me as he always does and I have the best team behind me, but none of that will settle those butterflies in my tummy and I am counting the sleeps until we blast off in Port Elizabeth. “The Rover Enduro is a really big deal for all of us!”

Salt Rock KZN star Brett Swanepoel will be looking at bettering the best result of his enduro season second in open class E2 last time out, as he chases a championship podium in Port Elizabeth. “I plan to end my season in style,” Brett promised. “I have come on strong since coming back at the beginning of the year, my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna is locked and loaded and we are looking forward to a great weekend — bring it on!"

Nottingham Road KZN youngster Matthew Green will meanwhile jet back from Turkey’s previous weekend’s Sea to Sky Enduro in time for the Port Elizabeth SA national final. “It’s a bit of a mad rush back, but I am looking to end my South African national season with another strong result aboard my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna. “Third in the 200cc E1 championship is still possible so that's the target."

“We may be in a strong position, but we head to Port Elizabeth with it all still to do,” Husqvarna South Africa Motorcycles brand manager Fred Fensham concluded. “William will be chasing the E1 championship and a full house of wins this season, but he can’t rest until it’s over, while, Brett and Matt both have championship scores to settle, so we are looking forward to a great Rover Enduro for Pepson Plastics Husqvarna supported by Liqui Moly. “Go get it guys!”
