Habot Performance Lubricants enjoyed an exceptional start to its 2026 racing season when its cars dominated at the opening round of the National Extreme Festival at Killarney in Cape Town on Saturday. The lion’s share of Habot Racing’s success came in the Astron Energy Polo Cup, but there were also great results in the SATC SupaCup.

Dainfern dentist Hannes Scheepers dominated the Astron Energy Polo Cup in his Habot Performance Lubed Volkswagen Polo Cup. The Habot Racing cup flowed over when Shiren Rajpaul and Pierluigi Muzzulini sped to third and fourth in their best showings yet in Astron Energy Polo Cup. Rookie Josh Moore also impressed with eighth on debut in the first heat, before being eliminated after a late second heat tangle. It was a good day in the Astron Energy Polo Masters too, where pole man John Kruger ended third in the Habot Polo and Elio Muzzulini seventh.

Habot also lubed former Volkswagen Rookie Cup champion Judd Bertholdt on his South African Touring Cars SupaCup debut. The youngster impressed with a solid drive to third overall on his maiden run in his Volkswagen SupaPolo.
