Oosthuizen leads the way to Zululand

Pepson Plastics Husqvarna heads to what is traditionally one of the toughest rounds of the South African National Enduro Championship rounds every season at the IMPI Hard Enduro through the heart of Zululand from Eshowe to Nkandla 27-29 June. William Oosthuizen is however looking to make it four E1 200cc class wins in a row for the team, while teammates Matthew Green and Brett Swanepoel are out to impress in their own E1 and open class E2 title challenges in KZN.

“I'm really looking forward to the IMPI Hard Enduro,” Mossel Bay rider William Oosthuizen admitted. “This is traditionally one of the toughest races of the season, but this year we take on an all new route around Eshowe, so we need to wait and see what’s in store down there. “I am ready, my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna is ready and I’m looking forward to arriving at the IMPI armed with the championship leader’s red plate on my bike — and keeping it there. “Let’s do this!”

Matthew Green may not have too far to travel from Nottingham Road to Zululand, where he hopes to continue his championship progress in E1 at the IMPI: “This race is one of the toughest challenges of the SA enduro season, but then the tougher the going, the better it gets for me and my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna,” Matthew promised. “I've also enjoyed some decent championship progress in the past two rounds, so the plan is to build on that and keep moving forward.”

Brett Swanepoel is returning to battle strength race-by-race as he ramps up form after sitting out 2018 due to injury. “I've finished all three nationals so far this season and I look forward to powering my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna to another competitive result, no matter how tough the IMPI turns out to be,” Brett, who also has a short trip in from Salt Rock, explained. “I’ve made steady progress this season and I'm happy to be sitting third in the E2 title chase — now I'm looking for more this weekend...”

“The IMPI Hard Enduro is one event that can be expected to test our Pepson Plastics Husqvarnas and our factory riders to the limit,” Husqvarna South Africa Motorcycles brand manager Fred Fensham concluded. “But we arrive in KZN with William unbeaten so far this year and Matthew and Brett on great form, so we are in good shape — go get it guys!"
