Continental crews add to perfect record at Polish Rallye Breslau

Red-Lined Motorsport has a proud high finishing rate in local Cross Country racing, but that record is now rapidly growing on an international scale too. All three Red-Lined Navaras entered, finished strongly in the rough, tough and demanding 1,600 km Polish Rallye Breslau run over the past week. One of the biggest events on the European off-road racing calendar, 70 cars finished among the over 400 machines entered in the race across all classes.

Dutch crew Ronald van Loon and Erik Lemmen’s Red-Lined VK50 came home a brilliant second overall among the cars entered in Europe’s biggest Rally Raid. Belgian pair Stefan Carmans and Arjan van Tiel ended thirteenth in another VK56, while another Dutch duo, Dave Klaassen and Tessa Rooth came home 21st in their Red-Lined VK50.

The results do not tell the whole Red-Lined story at Rallye Breslau, however. Van Loon and Lemmen led the race for most of the distance before a faulty onboard jack and then the car fell off its manual jack, cost them the win after a last day puncture. Klaasen and Rooth meanwhile won two of the racing days through the course of the event.

The Polish results come on top of Red-Lined Motorsport's 100% finishing rate across its four car team competing in the South African Cross Country series. “That's another 100% finishing record with three more finishers from three starts at Rallye Breslau in Poland,” Red-Lined CEO Terence Marsh confirmed. “So, it’s a huge shoutout to our European teammates, their technicians and teams on a brilliant job over five challenging days in extremely tough conditions. “We are extremely proud of this result!”

Red-Lined Motorsport’s South African team is due to race in the Vryburg Cross Country double header, pending a lockdown relaxation before the 13-14 August race, where the crews will be chasing more top ten finishes and podium results.
