Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul Racing is off to Limpopo

Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul Racing is keen to capitalise on its great 2021 South African Cross Country Moto Championship start at the second round at Modimolle in Limpopo Saturday 27 March. OR1 rider D'artagnan Lobjoit and OR3 man Taki Bogiages impressed in KZN first time out and both cannot wait to race a national on more familiar terrain, while three other riders make their Kawasaki debuts this weekend.

“We were delighted with Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul Racing's National Cross Country debut at Jolivet in KZN last month,” team boss Iain Pepper confirmed. “Racing in the Zululand hills is always a challenge for out of town riders in the KZN locals’ backyard, which made that result so much sweeter, but this weekend our guys will race in familiar territory so we are keen for another step forward.

"Dart and Taki starred at Jolivet and they and the rest of the team, Craig Alcock in OR1, Kyle Mckenzie in OR3 and our Senior man Lee Thompson will be out as usual. “We have three newcomers racing this weekend too. “I am still injured, so we have put Pieter Holl onto my bike in the Masters class. “And two of our Juniors, Clayton Human will race the GXCC regional in the 85 cc class and Dylan Human will be out on a 65 cc.

""We also happy to welcome a cool new subsidiary sponsor aboard as Pizza Perfect joins Pepson Plastics Kawasaki South Africa Motul Racing - that's one the lads will really appreciate!"

“I am really looking forward to Modimolle,” D'artagnan Lobjoit admitted. "My big Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul KX450XC is perfectly suited to this faster, less technical terrain, which is also more what I am used to.” 450 cc OR1 teammate Craig Alcock is another man keen on the race around the town once known as Nylstroom. “We had a few issues at tough Jolivet,” Craig explained. “So I’m hoping for a clean race in Limpopo."

“I love racing on bushveld tracks like we hear are waiting for us in virgin territory at Modimolle," Taki Bogiages enthused. “My Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul Racing KX250XC will once again be well suited to the conditions, so I’m looking forward to another good race in a most competitive class.” Kyle Mckenzie is also looking to star in OR3: “We had a great run in the GXCC opener in similar conditions, so the plan is for more of the same at Modimolle.”

The end of March is most interesting for Lee Thompson, who steps straight out of his red GTC racing BMW in Killarney and onto his green Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul Racing KX250XC at Modimolle a week later. “What is life without a challenge?” Lee asked. “Variety is the spice of life!” 2018 Masters champion Peter Holl cannot wait for the weekend: “Thanks so much to Iain for this chance — I need to get used to the 250 from my regular 500, but I'm ready!"

“We are ready for Kawasaki’s second national in its Cross Country comeback at Modimolle.” Iain Pepper concluded. “We have had a little time to be even better prepared for Nylstroom and Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul Racing is looking forward to fighting for best possible results.”
