Motlekar thrives on last race dices

Ghazi Motlekar finished off his 2019 karting season with a winning performance at the final round of the Zwartkops Club championship at the Pretoria circuit on Saturday. Motlekar took a couple of race wins and a second place to take the day overall and leave looking forward to a great 2020 season ahead in Rotax Mini Max karting.

“We had a great weekend at the final round of the Zwartkops Club Championships and I came home most excited about the coming season,” Ghazi admitted. “I put it on pole position and won the first race easily, but my old rival Matthew Morrell found some good pace in the second race, although I was able to beat him to the flag after a good battle on track. It was the same in race 3 and Matthew took that one, but I took the day.

“It was great to dice today and we tried a few tricks in preparation for the new season, but now it's time for a well-earned holiday — it was hard work to get good marks at school and win on track, but the season ended with great results and a number of wins and school results were good too. “Thanks to my dad, Wes and uncle Hughie Orr for all the work this year. Let’s make it all count in 2020 — bring it on!"
