Motocross girls & boys on top in Bloemfontein
Team Tork Craft once again came home clutching the silverware following the weekend’s fourth round South African National Motocross races at the Tempe track in Bloemfontein. It was once again a case of ladies first, however. Team Tork Craft Husqvarna’s Mackenzie Bam made a clean sweep to extend her advantage in the 2026 Ladies Motocross chase.
Not to be outdone, Sigmafix Tork Craft Yamaha hero Slade Smith consolidated his senior motocross challenge with second for the day in both 450cc open class MX1 and quarter-litre MX2.
Sigmafix Tork Craft Yamaha teammate, National Cross Country hero Maddy Malan made Slade work for it in the big bore class. They shared out the MX1 seconds and thirds only for Smith to stand on the second step of the podium alongside Malan on a countback to Slade taking his second place first.
Fourth in heat 1 Slade then bounced back to grab second in the second MX2 moto aboard his Sigmafix Tork Craft Yamaha YZF 250. Team Tork Craft Husqvarna lad Luke Grundy was twice third to end up third for the day by just a single point in another podium double for Team Tork Craft.
Fourth in the 85cc action, Rayden Woolls was best of the Team Tork Craft Junior riders on his Team Tork Craft Husqvarna. Tork Craft RTR KTM trio Hanru du Plessis ended 11th, Lourens Erasmus 12th and ?Adam Meyer 15th in the 85s. And Team Tork Craft Husqvarna lad Kabelo Ledwaba ended tenth in High School 125s where Tork Craft Blu Cru Yamaha trio Deruk van Aswegan was 13th, Branden van Wyk 15th and Cameron Stuckie 17th.
“That was another great day for Team Tork Craft,” team coordinator Tony Riddell concludes. “Mackenzie is making South African Ladies Motocross her own, while Slade, Maddy and Luke were all on the open class podiums and the rest of the team continues to learn and grow by the moto.
