A clear, sunny day and a stiff Cape South Easter greeted the Western Province Rotax Max karters to a well-supported sixth round at the Killarney Kart Track on Saturday. The wind would not stop Jason Coetzee from dominating DD2, Conor Hughes from a close Masters win and Keagan Beaumont surprising in Senior. Max Boshoff won Junior Max  again, Zac Boshoff took Micro Max and Zaid Panday another Bambino win.

Jason Coetzee romped to a triple DD2 gearbox class win as Matthew Wadeley and the ever improving Tony Auby shared the second places two to one to complete the podium. Joseph Oelz followed from Ethan Stier, Storm Lanfear, and newcomer Dylan Rogers. It was close in Masters. Conor Hughes and Jared Jordan shared the wins to emerge a point apart overall ahead of Michael Jordan, Justin Rogers, and Neville Chapman.

Keagan Beaumont upset newly crowned South African National champion Sebastiano Human’s recent winning streak with a dominant triple Senior Max victory over Human, Jordon Wadeley, Matthew Carter, William Marshall, Geo Christl, Tristan Botha, and Jesse Swart. An impressive fifteen karts sat on that regional championship grid.

Two wins were enough for Max Boshoff to take the high school Junior Max day once again, before Retlotleng Thekiso surprised with a final heat win to take second from two more unexpected lads, Justin Milleskie and Aleksander Praizovic. Michael Danks followed from Jose Slamet, Ruan Lewis, and Zion Hair.

There was drama in super competitive under-13 Mini Max where final heat winner Logan Roehrig took a 10-place penalty for robust driving to hand race 1 victor Zac Boshoff the win and the day. Michael O'Mahoney ended second from Jake Steyn, Ruhan Victor Liam Wharton, second heat winner Jayden van der Merwe, Roehrig and Qaaint Doutie.

Three drivers took heat wins in under-11 Micro Max. But it was twice second, Lehan Fourie who took the final heat to win the day from second heat winner Caleb Lingeveldt, Yaseen Panday, Jamie Geldenhuys, Emelee Adriaans and Aleena Doutie. Heat 1 winner Slater Smith was forced to miss the rest of the day.

Zaid Panday continued on his winning way with another triple win to take baby Bambino honours from newcomer Zeeva Strydom, Sebastian Fletcher, Remi Coxon, Blake van Deventer, and Liam Ludwig. The penultimate of eight Western Province Rotax Max karting rounds goes down back at Killarney on Saturday 24 October.
