South African race driver Kwanda Mokoena cannot wait to return to GT Masters action at the Norisring over the weekend of 8 and 9 July. Mokoena, who enjoyed a steady start to that championship season at Hockenheimring earlier in the month, impressed at a subsequent outing in the GT Open at Hungoraring, where he came to understand his new car far better.

“We had a solid debut in the Liqui Moly Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo at the first ADAC GT Masters race at Hockenheimring,” Kwanda explains. “But I had the chance to race the car again in GT Open in Hungary since, where we ended seventh and what I learned over both weekends has equipped me far better for round 2 of the ADAC GT Masters at the Norisring this coming weekend.

“Norisring will also be a much bigger affair, as we are part of the DTM meeting there, which means a bigger crowd, far more excitement, and a bit more pressure! But I’m ready, I have my Engstler Racing family behind me, and we are looking forward to a strong weekend in Germany. I simply cannot wait!”
