Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul Racing heads to Delmas in Mphumalanga hell bent on repeating the brand’s maiden comeback victory three races into its return to the MSA South African National Cross Country Motorcycle Championship last time out in Matatiele. Michael Pentecost stormed to that Matat on his Franchise Co CIT Kawasaki KX450X, but he’s not the only Kawasaki rider chasing glory in Dusty Delmas.

“We're going to Delmas with one objective in mind and that is to win,”  Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul Racing team boss Iain Pepper warned. “We are in a strong championship position both overall and in the top class OR1 with Michael and D'Artagnan Lobjoit in the top four in both chases, and we are also out to shine in OR3 where Kyle Mackenzie is coming on strong. 

“Unfortunately Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul Racing is two riders down — our OR3 star Taki Bogiages is recovering from Covid and his recuperation and health is more important than risking to ride. “And I am still recovering from injury so we will not be out in over-40 Masters this weekend. “But then Delmas is also a home race for us, so we have that extra spring in our step and a crack squad out to claim those trophies. “Bring it on.”   

“My Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul KX450X is ready for Delmas!” D'Artagnan Lobjoit confirmed. “This one is also a home race for us and it is on terrain that best suits my riding style too. “I love the quick stuff and we have set my bike up for maximum attack. “We expect it to be dusty, so let’s hope I can get out front and push hard all the way. “I can’t wait!”   

“My Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul KX250X really felt amazing through all the different terrains on the track at Matatiele, Kyle Mackenzie explained, "But we now move closer to home on a local track that we are confident will very well suit my riding style. “I will be the lone Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul rider in OR3 at Delmas, so I’m also doing it for my teammate Taki, as he recovers from Covid. “I’m ready!” 

Two more Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul riders, the ever-improving OR1 rookie Craig Alcock aims to continue his first season progress on the big-bore machine and Senior man Lee Thompson is looking for a clean run on his KX250X alongside Franchise CIT Kawasaki man Deon du Toit, who sits second in the over-30s class.

And then there are the Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul juniors, where the team has three kids racing.  Jake Pretorius returns to the saddle following a most impressive round on his KX85X at the Matatiele national. Clayton Human is looking forward to another step forward in his outing in 85cc Club and Dylan Human is raring to race his Pepson Plastics Kawasaki Motul KX65X in the 65cc Club class.
