Pepper delivers an epic comeback drive

South Africa’s Tasmin Pepper delivered an epic come from behind performance to storm from sixteenth to eighth on what is effectively the women’s world championship of racing at Hockenheim in Germany on Saturday. Pepper overcame a difficult qualifying to score points on her debut in an inaugural W Series weekend that challenged the 18 ladies in the field of identical Taatus Formula 3 race cars with changeable conditions throughout.

“I am really happy with how I ended in my first W Series race,” Tasmin admitted.. “Qualifying was so difficult in the cold, wet conditions on Saturday morning on a day when it snowed not far from here — I found myself struggling for grip and getting heat into the tyres.”But the race was great — plenty good, close action and I was delighted with how I progressed up through the field throughout the race and getting into the points.

“Sixteenth to eighth — I will take that! “That was a great start and now I'm realiy looking forward to Zolder in Belgium in two weeks time — can’t wait!"
