Pepper prepared to make history

Tasmin Pepper is set to be part of a historical moment in motorsport as she prepares to represent South Africa as one of eighteen young ladies to compete in the inaugural international W Series single-seater championship for women in 2019 at Hockenheim in Germany over the weekend of 4-5 May.

“I am feeling very nervous and excited for the first race of the W Series season and the first ever W Series race too,” Tasmin explained. "I have worked really hard to get to this point and really looking forward to it all coming together and while Hockenheim will be a new track for me, I’m up to the challenge and ready to get back in my Tatuus Formula 3 machine.

“I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge word of thanks to all of you who have supported me in my racing career so far — now I will do my best to make South Africa proud!"

Reigning SA Volkswagen Polo Cup Masters champion, Tasmin has a wealth of winning race experience from karting through single-seaters to saloon car racing, before being selected to be one of the 64 lady racers to contend for the 18 W Series through a comprehensive knock-out process, where she earned the right to race.

Now the groundbreaking women’s racing series aims to change the face of motorsport with the 18 finalists racing identical wings and slicks single seater race cars in a six-round championship around Europe as part of the DTM roadshow starting at Hockenheim, Germany this weekend.
