Enduro trio all set for Britz national

Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Racing heads to Britz in the Northwest Province for the Powersol Piesangsberg Enduro — the second round of the 2019 South African National Championship with a spring in its step as its star rider line-up of William Oosthuizen, Brett Swanepoel and Matthew Green cannot wait to get their teeth into the flesh of the season. The Piesangsberg, which runs over Easter weekend, will test riders with tough and rocky going in the Magaliesberg foothills.

Oosthuizen, who hails from Mossel Bay, rode his Pepson Plastics Husqvarna to E1 200cc honours ultra-tough KZN WFO season opener and he’s not up to taking any prisoners in Britz. “The first national was a super awesome weekend for me,” William admitted. “I have worked hard since to be ready for the Britz — I am also keen to go one better on my second there last year and to reward my brilliant team for all their efforts too.” William even raced the recent Cape Town motocross nationals in preparation for the enduro challenge.

Salt Rock rider Brett Swanepoel is also looking forward to the Britz national as he ramps up his return to racing after over a year of recuperation from injury. “It was absolutely wonderful to be back on my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna in anger again and I managed a good result with fourth in E2 in KZN too,” Brett admitted. “I have been patient and worked hard and I am looking forward to the next step in my return and to thank my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna team with best possible results.

Pepson Plastics Husqvarna’s third rider, Nottingham Road lad Matthew Green will be keen to get his season on the boil aboard his E1 class Husqvarna after a tough first round. “That first race is behind us and now it’s onward and upward,”  Matthew promised. “We still have a long season ahead of us, so it’s all to do and I am looking forward to an even better result this weekend.”

“Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Racing heads to the second round of the SA Enduro season on a strong footing,” Husqvarna Motorcycles South Africa brand manager Fred Fensham concluded. “William Oosthuizen arrives in Britz leading in E1; Brett Swanepoel is looking to build on his comeback fourth last round and Matt Green is all set to bounce right back into contention.”
