Coetzee chases two WP kart titles

Jason Coetzee cannot wait to get back racing at Killarney after a long break, Saturday 28 July. Durbanville driver Coetzee last raced at the African Open at the beginning of the month but it’s been since May when the start lights last went out at the Killarney Kart Track and Jason is itching to get his double home track Western Cape championship campaign back on track.

“It’s about time we raced at Killarney again,” Jason insisted. “There’s been no racing there since May, so we have a little catching up to do and I am sure we will get well into that this weekend. “I am leading the Senior Max championship by six points and I’m second in the DD2 chase by just five points and I’d like to come back home leading both next Saturday evening.

“To do that won’t be all that easy — I have to beat my EMR Extreme CRG teammate Umpie Swart to get ahead in DD2 and Andrew Rackstraw has really good pace in Senior Max, but we will also probably have to worry about a few guys who will come down to use our regionals in both classes as a test for the national at Killarney two weeks later, so it should be pretty interesting. “Thanks in advance to all my sponsors and my team — here's to a great weekend at Killarney!”
