SA champion Boyd ready to step up

2017 South African Junior Max Karting champion Sebastian Boyd is ready for a step up to the top Rotax DD2 gearbox class in 2018, starting with Killarney’s opening Western Province championship round Saturday 10 February. The SACS College grade 10 scholar who earned both his South African blazer and his Western Province colours last year, can’t wait to take on among the best drivers in the country.

“We had a great year in Juniors last year but I am now too old to race there, so we decided to take a big step and I will be racing a Boyd Boss Freight Kosmic chassis in the DD2 gearbox class in 2018. “It’s a big move because I’m taking on the best karters in the province in regionals and the best drivers in the country at the nationals, where we don’t just race against top karters, but SA circuit, rally and cross country champions too.

“I may be young and it may be a big step, but I'm confident I can take on the best and Killarney will be a good measure to see where we are and what we have to do to race in front all season. “I’m ready for the jump — let’s do this!”
