National racing returns home 4 November

The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit is limbering up for its next action packed national championship Motorsport Festival when a full program of Extreme Festival racing heads to the home of South African motorsport Saturday 4 November. Race fans can look forward to explosive circuit racing action in keeping with its Guy Fawkes weekend expectations.

All eyes will be on the sensational Sasol GTC championship duel between Michael Stephen and Gennaro Bonafede as the two continue their season-long title scrap, while other national championship action will see the usual Engen Volkswagen Cup spat as that series comes to a head with the Masters championship and runner-up slots all to play for following Devin Robertson clinching the title last time out.

Julian van der Watt has likewise wrapped up the Investchem Formula 1600 title, but will Stuwie White be back to impress, fresh off his overseas successes, but perhaps the biggest excitement of the day will come courtesy of the racing supercar Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches and all of the G&H Transport Extreme Supercars.

Fans can also look forward to the return of the rolling thunder V8 Supercars and Mastercars and there will also be national championship Hankook Formula Vee as well as regional 111 Saloon, AutoBarn SuperHatch and Sub-10 Motorcycle races.

The Kyalami Motorsport Festival promises a great day out for the whole family — spectator embankments at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit offer excellent views of the track and race fans are encouraged to bring and braai. There will be a lunchtime grid walk where spectators can meet the drivers, and see the race cars up-close on the starting line.
