It’s Bloemfontein next for Q4 Fuels Husqvarna Racing, which heads to the Free State with a pair of TRP South African National Motocross Championship leaders’ red number plates on the front of its 65cc and open class MX1 machines. The team’s 11-year old sensation Neil van der Vyver heads to Bloem looking to continue his unbeaten run in the 65s, Maddy Malan leads MX1, while Nick Adams will be chasing his red plate in the 250cc MX2 races.

Young van der Vyver has won every heat in the super-competitive 65cc class, reflecting the Cape Town lad’s unbeaten 14-race run in the smaller 50cc class a year or two back and Neil has zero intention of changing any of that any time soon: “I’ve had a great run so far and I’m very happy with four wins out of four races for the season so far,” he confirmed. “We have had a long break since the last national meeting, but I’m ready for Bloemfontein — I can’t wait!"

Maddy Malan has enjoyed dominant form in the top MX1 half-litre class, but it has not been easy with a few challenges along the way, not least a heroic second in his second Cape Town moto, where he fought home on a punctured rear wheel. “I have had great pace all season so far, but a few problems to overcome too,” Maddy explained. “Still, we head to Bloem with that red plate on my Husqvarna where I plan to reward my awesome team with the best result possible."

Q4 Fuels Husqvarna Racing’s MX2 250cc rider Nick Adams has piled on the points through the season so far, but the Durban rider heads to the Free State intent to leave there with a red plate too. “I’ve worked hard on my pace and consistency and I’m looking forward to delivering on that in Bloemfontein,” Nick admitted. “I’ve scored good points through the season and won a race in the first round, so the plan is to up the win count this weekend.”
