Ghazi wraps up second at Sette Laghi… and the championshp

Ghazi Motlekar wrapped up his Northern Italian Karting season with a fine second on the day at the Sette Laghi final as he also ended up a fine second in the 2021 Junior Max Championship. 2020 South African Rotax Mini Max champion Motlekar is racing in Europe on a Mozambican licence in his rookie Junior Max year and he is delighted with his Italian season so far.

"Today we did the final race in the Northern Italian Junior Max Championship and we came second,” Ghazi confirmed. “I was surprised when I was told that I have also ended second in the Northern Italian championship. “ Wow — we worked so hard for this! "I must first thank my Italo-South African team, Munaretto Performance — Mauro and Luca took me under their wing this season and we came out tops!

“I also cannot find the words to thank my mom enough for her sacrifice to move to Europe and support me over the past months.  “Mom, you pushed me so hard to excel, and dad I will always cherish your never ending support. "I am blessed! “We have one more race to go to conclude a very busy season with the big one — the overall Italian Rotax Max Challenge Italia from all three regions — I can’t wait!"
