Radical '19 motocrossers here in 2 weeks

Husqvarna Motorcycles South Africa will unpack its radical brand new ready to race 2019 motocross range in the first week of July in a new generation of five 2-stroke and 4-stroke machines representing the historic brand’s significant next step.

“Our all-new 2019 Husqvarna motocross range is on its way to South Africa and the machines will be ready for delivery in the first week of July,” Husqvarna Motorcycles South Africa Fred Fensham confirmed. “From the nimble TC 125 to the potent FC 450, each model in the MY19 range sets the benchmark in its respective class and every model packs a long list of upgrades. “They will be waiting for you at your local Husqvarna dealer in just a few weeks.”

A true motocross pioneer with its roots stretching back to 1903, Husqvarna is enjoying another vintage year having already won the 2018 FIM 450SX World Championship and the United States 250SX AMA East Region Championship, while also leading both the South African MX1 and MX2 championships. Husqvarna’s 2019 motocrossers however represent a significant next step and even promise a huge step from the very first look; but what really matters lurks behind that cool new redesigned bodywork and graphics.

Starting with a far more rigid all-new frame now finished in Husqvarna dark blue and benefiting a new 250-gram lighter two-piece subframe design and a stiffer new upper triple clamp, the 2018 bikes boast revised suspension too, with WP AER 48 forks tweaked to the latest settings and uprated WP DCC shocks now featuring a new piston and updated settings. Add ProTaper handlebars with a new bend and laser engraved DID wheels with new spoke nipples.

Looking at Husqvarna’s 2019 motocross engines, all FC four-strokes benefit improved traction and launch control settings, while exhausts gain flow-designed resonance chambers with more compact silencers. The big FC 450 gets an all-new 500 gram lighter single-cam cylinder head, the FC 350 a 200g lighter cylinder head casting and the FC 250 benefits an optimised exhaust camshaft profile. There’s also a new diaphragm steel clutch for the TC 125, FC 250 & FC 350.

TC two-stroke models similarly benefit highest-tech upgrades, with the TC 125 & TC 250 gaining a machine-finished upper exhaust port and new exhaust mufflers, while the TC 250 adds a new header pipe and the TC 125 a reinforced kick start intermediate gear.

Other improvements include all-new Pankl gearboxes, a new generation 2.0 Ah Lithium-ion battery, updated centre tube cooling, 5mm increased chain adjustment length and revised throttle cable routing for easier maintenance. Deliveries of the 2019 Husqvarna Motocross range start first week July 2018. Learn more at http://www.husqvarna-motorcycles.com/za/.
