Lupini chasing best results at Killarney

Giordano Lupini is looking for a clean Burly Pro GTi Challenge outing at Killarney Saturday 19 October as the Franschhoek youngster focuses on wrapping up the Class C title as he continues in an epic overall title race in his CIR Construction/La Vie de Luc Accelerate Special Gasoline #racingforwomen Golf 1 GTi. Lupini has shown 2019 dominant form, but he has also suffered his fair share of problems in more recent rounds too.

“We have had a great season, but it's been difficult too,” Giordano explained. “Over the last three rounds, we have won one race and not scored in the second races after leading them all, so the objective is to finish all four remaining races well. “Andrew Goslett and GAP Motorsport have rebuilt my car’s engine and gearbox after last race and we will be ready to race come next Saturday.

“The overall Burly Pro GTi Challenge championship is most interesting, with the three class leaders — Nian du Toit in Class A, Eden Thompson in B and me in C in an incredible title fight with just six points between us. “None of us can affect the others’ races as we are in different races on track, so the plan is to score maximum points in class and I am really looking forward to fighting that overall championship battle out.

“I am in a handy Class C lead and it is possible to wrap it up on Saturday — Jarred Simpson has kept me honest all season, but I will push hard to try wrap it up sooner rather than later, so we can concentrate on the overall title fight in the final round — bring it on!
